The Milwaukee Brewers will be inducting the former face of their franchise Ryan Braun into their Walk of Fame on Sunday, July 28. Prior to the ceremony he arrived a few days early and had been seen around American Family Field as the Brew Crew battled the Miami Marlins. During this time he was personally asked if he thought his number would eventually be retired by the franchise.
Milwaukee Brewers Ryan Braun was asked about the possibility of having #8 retired by the franchise.
When asked about the possibility of having #8 retired by the Brewers Ryan Braun responded by talking about how he was not thinking that far ahead, he was reflecting on his journey to this point, and that entering the Walk of Fame is beyond anything he could have imaged. The full video of his response is available below.

How many players have their number retired by the Milwaukee Brewers?
The Brewers currently have retired the number of six players. They are No. 1 for owner Bud Selig, No. 4 for Paul Molitor, No. 19 for Robin Yount, No. 34 for Rollie Fingers, No. 44 for Hank Aaron, and No. 42 for Jackie Robinson. All of these players are in the hall of fame.
When will Ryan Braun be eligible for Hall of Fame voting?
Baseball players can first become eligible to be placed on the Hall of Fame ballot five full seasons after they last played. Ryan Braun last played in 2020 and therefore it will be until 2026 before he is eligible. From there it takes 75% of votes to be enshrined into the Hall of Fame and a player can remain eligible so long as he receives 5% of votes each year (up to 10 voting cycles).
Right now Ryan Braun is going through the process of being recognized as one of the Brewers greats. He already is on the Wall of Honor and this the Walk of Fame is the next step. From there how his Hall of Fame voting goes may largely sway if his number is retired by Milwaukee or not.
