In the new era of baseball at a young age pitchers are currently throwing the ball as hard as they can and for as long as they can. Increased velocity creates an uptick in exposure and recognition for a lot for a younger athlete who are looking to get a foot in the door at the collegiate level or get scouted to enter the professional realm. Additionally, at the major league level the game is getting quicker and pitch clock rules have resulted in players getting less rest in between pitches. The down side to all this is that injuries, across all levels of baseball, to the ulnar collateral ligament are on the rise.
