The Milwaukee Brewers announced their minor league coaching staff on Wednesday. There were no major changes among the managers, but a familiar face was announced as an assistant coach. That is the former third round pick in the 2010 MLB draft Tyler Thornburg.

In 2012, Thornburg got his feet wet in the big leagues as he pitched 22 innings. He broke out a year later as a swing-man when he had a 2.02 ERA across 66.2 innings. From 2014-2016 he operated strictly as a reliever that included accumulating 13 saves in 2016 while having another impressive ERA of 2.15 over 67 innings. That following off-season he was traded to the Boston Red Sox for a bundle of players in which the most notable names of that group were shortstop Mauricio Dubon and infielder Travis Shaw.
Which minor league level will Tyler Thornburg be coaching at?
Thornburg will be joining the Brewers Double-A affiliate Biloxi Shuckers. The 36 year old will be their associate pitching coach. Josh Spence will remain the Shuckers primary pitching coach and is entering his second season with the team.
