The Milwaukee Brewers are off to a 10-3 start to begin the 2024 season. One big reason for their early season success has been because of the production they are getting offensively. Their hitters have been relentless and as a result they have tied a franchise record last accomplished in 1989.
Over the last six games the Milwaukee Brewers have scored at least seven runs.
Leading into Sunday’s finale against the Baltimore Orioles the Brewers have scored at least seven runs in six consecutive games. Their streak started on Sunday, April 7 against the Seattle Mariners when they scored 12 runs. Following that they scored eight, nine, and seven runs against the Cincinnati Reds and then back-to-back games of 11 runs scored against the Orioles.
The Brewers have had two prior stretches in franchise history of at least seven runs scored in six consecutive games.
In 1989 the Brewers scored exactly seven runs during six straight contests during a stretch of games from September 6-12. They also did this during the 1982 season. In 1982 from June 25-June 30 they had games of nine, 11, seven, seven, 11, and nine runs scored.
Comparing the total runs scored of each year’s streak.
Scoring seven runs in six consecutive games is an impressive feat, but how many total runs did each year’s team score during the streak? 1989’s team scored 42 runs, 1982’s team 54 runs, and 2024’s team 58 runs.
Hopefully the 2024 Brewers will be able to keep their run scoring streak alive during Sunday’s finale against the Orioles. They will have their work cut out for them though as they will be facing Corbin Burnes.
