The Milwaukee Brewers may be made up of a bunch of “average Joe’s” who are relying on the “power of friendship” to help them achieve their team goals, but the level of success they are experiencing together is going to make some of these players household names sooner rather than later. At 68-44, the Brewers have the best record in Major League Baseball and lead the National League Central Division by three games over the hated Chicago Cubs.
On Monday, it was announced that, for the second month in a row, a Brewers rookie had been named the National League Rookie of the Month. Jacob Misiorowski took home the award for the month of June and Isaac Collins won the award for July.
And on Tuesday, one of the most popular players on Milwaukee’s roster also was given a notable award.
Milwaukee Brewers Right Fielder Sal Frelick Named Team’s “Heart and Hustle” Award Winner

Gold Glove-winning right fielder Sal Frelick has been one of the most popular players among fans all season long. Even before the calendar turned to June, fans had dubbed this season the “Summer of Sal,” as they continued to admire how hard he plays every single day.
And they are not the only ones who have noticed how much heart the right fielder plays with. Major League Baseball, on Tuesday, named Frelick Milwaukee’s winner of the Heart and Hustle Award:

It was an honor that many Brewers fans felt was appropriate for the hard-nosed Frelick to win:

Frelick has not played in a couple of days as he is nursing a sore knee, but is hitting .296/.353/.412 with eight home runs and 41 RBI this season. He also has 17 stolen bases and is playing Gold Glove caliber defense in right field again.
While he did not start out the season as Milwaukee’s leadoff hitter, he has thrived since being moved into that role. Since then, he is hitting .303/.346/.488.
Hopefully his knee injury does not keep him out much longer as the offense is much more electric when he is setting the stage.
