On Saturday, the MLB Players Association announced winners of their Players Choice Awards. While Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani were headliners, Rhys Hoskins of the Milwaukee Brewers was the recipient of not one, but two awards this season: the Marvin Miller Man of the Year, and the Philanthropist of the Year.
Milwaukee Brewers First Baseman Rhys Hoskins Honored with Two Awards
The Marvin Miller Man of the Year is presented to the player “whose leadership most inspires others to higher levels of achievement.” In a video done by the MLBPA, Hoskins mentioned his work he’s done with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Hoskins will also receive a $25,000 grant to the charity of his choice for winning this award, respectively.
The Philanthropist of the Year Award “recognizes the community work of individual players, celebrating their altruistic spirit and positive social impact beyond the diamond.”
Hoskins and his wife, Janice, have been very active in the community, hosting 100 families at a Brewers game this season, hosting MDA summer camps, holding social media campaigns, and so much more.

Also notable, Jackson Chourio was named as a finalist for the NL Outstanding Rookie award, but that honor went to Jackson Merrill of the Padres after his monster of a season.
