There have been a great many storylines about various players that have come out of Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training. For weeks, fans have been dialed in to the latest updates on Brandon Woodruff, who is preparing to make his return to the Majors this year after missing the entire 2024 season. The battle over the starting shortstop role, vacated by Willy Adames when he signed with the San Francisco Giants, was only recently won by Joey Ortiz after a long competition with Brice Turang.
But established Major League players were not the only ones generating headlines. Vinny Capra, who is out of minor league options, is tied for the team lead in home runs with six this spring. Craig Yoho, who struck out 101 batters in less than 50 innings last year in the minors, captured the attention of the national media with his devastating changeup.
But while the top prospects and borderline Opening Day roster hopefuls dominated headlines, one young 20-year-old, participating in his first professional Spring Training, was making a kind of homecoming.
Jadyn Fielder, Son of Prince Fielder, Has Been in Milwaukee Brewers Minor League Camp

Last July, Jadyn Fielder, the son of Brewers legend Prince Fielder, was signed by Milwaukee after going undrafted in the 2024 MLB Amateur Draft. He was 19 years old at the time.
Of course, the elder Fielder is one of the best players in franchise history. In 2007, his second year in the Majors, Prince became the youngest player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs in a season. He did so, at age 23, while slashing .288/.395/.618 and driving in 119 runs.
Jadyn, now 20, was not invited to Major League camp with the Brewers, but has been playing in minor league exhibition games with the Single-A Carolina players.
On Wednesday, Brewers insider Adam McCalvy published a story in which the younger Fielder revealed how much it means to him to be playing professional baseball, specifically for the organization he grew up around:
“It’s a dream come true. Since I was little I’ve always wanted to play for the Brewers. I’m just blessed that it’s really happening.
“My dad always told me you never know when your last day playing baseball is. So every game to me is like the World Series, almost. I’m just happy to be playing the game that I love. It doesn’t matter to me where it’s at.”
What he means is that it does not matter what level of the Brewers minor league system he starts his professional career playing in. He is just happy to be playing, and playing for Milwaukee.
Obviously, he has a long way to go before he could reach the Major Leagues. However, he will be a fun prospect to watch. A second baseman (who can also play third), Jadyn has a knack for getting on base, just like his dad, and has a similar swing to Prince’s that generates some raw power.
