The Milwaukee Brewers managed a come from behind win against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night in which an Alec Bohm error cleared the bases and gave the Brew Crew the lead.
Alec Bohm committed a costly error that gave the Milwaukee Brewers a late game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies.
To set the table we have to start in the top of the eighth inning. At that time the Brewers were leading by a score of 3-1 and they had their eighth inning set up man Joel Payamps in the game. He ended up struggling, allowing a run to cross, and Craig Counsell called upon Devin Williams for a four out save. Unfortunately the first batter that he faced was Trea Turner and he launched a go-ahead three run home run to put the Phillies up 5-3.
In the bottom of the eighth inning Milwaukee got a lead off single, Yelich hit into a fielders choice, William Contreras singled, and then back-to-back walks from Carlos Santana and pinch hitter Tyrone Taylor narrowed the lead by one run. At this time Jeff Hoffman was summoned from Philadelphia’s bullpen in which after getting Willy Adames out on strikes a routine potential inning ending ground ball to Alec Bohm ended up costing the Philllies the game.
