The Milwaukee Brewers are 36-23 and set to take on the Philadelphia Phillies in a battle of first place teams. They are, of course, coming off of a seven-game homestand against the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox that saw them go 6-1. After taking three out of four from the Cubs, the swept the White Sox in three games.
Throughout those seven games, there was one player in particular who was involved in numerous big moments and was largely responsible for multiple wins: shortstop Willy Adames.

Milwaukee Brewers Shortstop Willy Adames Wins National League Player of the Week
On Monday morning, it was reported that Brewers rookie third baseman Joey Ortiz had been named the National League Rookie of the Month. One of the players Milwaukee received in the Corbin Burnes trade, Ortiz hit .307/.391/.587 with four home runs and 12 RBI in May.
As it turns out, though, Ortiz is not the only Brewers player who got an award on Monday. Later in the day, it was revealed that Adames had won the National League Player of the Week:

In the last seven days, Adames is hitting .385/.484/.654 with two home runs and 10 RBI. In Milwaukee’s 4-3 win over the White Sox on Saturday night, he tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with a two-out two-RBI single and then won it in the bottom of the 10th with another RBI single.
Milwaukee Brewers Shortstop Willy Adames Is Increasing His Price with Stellar Play
There were many who believed that the Brewers might have tried to trade Adames during the offseason because he is in his final season of club control. After all, that is what they did with Corbin Burnes.
However, they chose to hang onto him and try to compete in 2024 with him on the team. It may have been the best decision that they made of the offseason as he has become one of the culture-setters and leaders in the clubhouse. A great part of this team’s identity is because of him.
At the plate, Adames is hitting .260/.338/.450 with nine home runs and 42 RBI. With the market being what it is for power-hitting shortstops, Adames is going to be in for an extremely lucrative payday this offseason.
