The Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets have agreed to a trade. Matt Arnold has elected to reunite starting pitcher Adrian Houser and outfielder Tyrone Taylor with David Stearns in exchange for minor league pitching prospect Coleman Crow. This is the first trade between the two executives since Stearns left Milwaukee and took over as president of baseball operations for the Mets.
This deal gives New York two players who will contribute at the Major League level. For Milwaukee it gives them a prospect who may not pitch in 2024 due to undergoing tommy john surgery last summer. However he does have good upside and post trade he slots in as the Brewers 25th ranked prospect.

Another good depth move. Mets aren’t looking to run the NLE but they’re definitely making decent improvements. If they land Yamamoto they’ll go on a flurry of flashy moves, otherwise expect more solid depth pick-ups.

Houser is a good pitcher. Shocked teams with greater pitching needs weren’t willing to outbid the Mets on this one. You’ll get 100 innings of 4.00 ERA which is solid.
