The Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Angels have had an entertaining series in Wisconsin. Friday’s game was a pitcher’s dual, Saturday’s game featured a multi home run game from Mike Trout, and on Sunday there was a unicorn home run hit by Shohei Ohtani.
During the third inning, Shohei Ohtani took Brewers pitcher Colin Rea deep to dead center field. The sky scraping home run had a launch angle of 39 degrees, was in the air for 6.98 seconds, traveled 413 feet, and was hit 162 feet high in the air. This is the highest hit home run in the statcast era.
With a launch angle of 39°, this Shohei Ohtani homer is the HIGHEST hit HR in Statcast HISTORY!!

Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels hits a unicorn home run against the Milwaukee Brewers.

This home run from Shohei Ohtani was his seventh of the season. The former MVP hit 34 long balls last season and 46 in 2021, but this home run against the Milwaukee Brewers made history given how high it traveled height wise and how long it hung in the air for. It’s a home run that you would only expect Shohei Ohtani to be able to do.
Unless these two teams meet in the World Series, the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Angels will not meet again until 2024. Their next series will be in Los Angeles.
