The Milwaukee Brewers made a roster move prior to their second out of three games against the Chicago Cubs. During their 3-1 come from behind victory one day prior their defensive oriented left fielder exited early due to a knee injury. He has now been placed on the injured list.

On Friday, May 3 Joey Wiemer entered the Brewers and Cubs game in the eighth inning as a defensive replacement. He unfortunately did not finish that inning as he appeared to injure his knee running down a ball in the outfield. Due to the injury he did not finish the inning and now is being placed on the 10-day injured list.
Joey Wiemer will undergo a MRI on his left knee.
According to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Wiemer will have further imaging done on his knee. The MRI is scheduled for today and a better understanding of what is going on should be known soon. For now he will miss at least 10 days.
Andrew Monasterio has been recalled as a result of Joey Wiemer being placed on the injured list.
The Milwaukee Brewers announced that infielder Anduw Monasterio will be taking Wiemer’s active roster spot while he is out injured. Monasterio was on the Opening Day roster but has been shuttled between the major and minor leagues since. This is the second time that he has been recalled. Under the 2022 collective bargaining agreement rules a player can only be shuttled back and forth five times in a season.
