The Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins began a three game series on Monday May, 20. In this contest the Brew Crew’s starter was removed after the first inning due to back stiffness. Manager Pat Murphy ended up using seven different relievers as a result and his team ended up falling short in an extra innings loss as Josh Bell came through with a walk-off base hit.
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Joe Ross was removed after one inning pitched against the Miami Marlins.

Against the Marlins Joe Ross worked a scoreless first inning but did not return to the mound for the second inning. Bally Sports reporter Sophia Minnaert indicated that he was dealing with some back stiffness pre game but it felt good enough while warming up. He ended up being removed from the game due to his back.
Joe Ross is out of the game after 15 pitches in the first inning. Pat Murphy said in the dugout that Ross was dealing with back tightness before the game and felt good enough after warming up. It tightened up again in the first inning.

The Milwaukee Brewers used seven different pitches after Joe Ross exited due to injury.

To cover Ross manager Pat Murphy had to get creative. He used Jared Koenig for for 2.2 innings, Joel Payamps for 1.1, Hoby Milner for 1.1, Elvis Peguero 0.2, Bryan Hudson 1.0, Trevor Megill 1.0, and then in the tenth inning called upon Mitch White. White had thrown 41 pitches the day prior against the Houston Astros. Bradley Blalock, who was called up to the bigs for the first time in his career earlier that day, was available but was not chosen to pitch and make his MLB debut.
Joe Ross is looking at a stint on the IL.

Per Toss Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel this back issue will likely result in a trip to the injured list for Joe Ross. Teammate Christian Yelich missed nearly a month with back tightness earlier this year. Timetables are often hard to predict with these types of injuries, so it will be interesting to see how long this keeps Ross sidelined for.
Looking like an IL stint for Joe Ross.
Also, Joey Ortiz is getting X-rays in his right foot, which is bothering him after he was hit in it earlier in the game.
The hits just keep coming.
