The Milwaukee Brewers have to be excited pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski. Since his promotion to Triple-A in early August he has transitioned out of being a starting pitcher and into a relievers role. This was done to help manage his innings and prep him for a MLB call up. Here are three compelling reasons as to why he is ready and that he should get called up soon.
Jacob Misiorowski is maintaining his velocity despite a career high in innings pitched.
In 2023 Jacob Misiorowski was shut down due to shoulder fatigue after 71.1 innings pitched. This year he is up to 90.1 innings pitched and as a reliever is maintaining 99 MPH velocity throughout his outings. On August 27 he had an appearance where five out of his six fastballs thrown registered at 99.2 MPH or higher.
The Milwaukee Brewers flamethrower is commanding the ball better than ever.
Throughout Jacob Misiorowski’s progression through the Minor Leagues there were times where he had lapses in command. Aside from his outlier Triple-A debut on August 3 since August 7 he has not walked a batter (9.2 innings pitched). His walk rate in Triple-A is 8.3% whereas in Double-A this year (as a starting pitcher) it was 14.4%.
Jacob Misiorowski has allowed just one hit since August 7.
As mentioned above Jacob Misiorowski has not walked a batter since August 7, but during this stretch he has also only allowed just one hit. This gives opposing batters a 0.030 batting average against him and a WHIP of 0.38. He’s managed to have this success despite being thrown into save opportunities, working multiple innings, and coming in with inherited runners on base.

When rosters expand on September 1 I would expect Jacob Misiorowski to be among the first big league call ups for the Milwaukee Brewers. He’s shown that he can handle a relief role and will make an already dominant bullpen even better.
