The Milwaukee Brewers promoted flame throwing pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski to Triple-A in early August 2024. Since then he has made several shorter appearances that includes coming out of the bullpen. All of this is being done in preparation for a possible MLB call up this year and recently he achieved another milestone.
Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski checked another box in preparation for a MLB call up.
On Tuesday, August 20 Jacob Misiorowski entered the game in the eighth inning with a three run lead. He went on to cover the final two innings for the Nashville Sounds and recorded a multi-inning save. This was his first career save as a professional baseball player and in this outing he didn’t allow a hit, didn’t walk any batters (did hit one batter), didn’t allow a run, and struck out two.
How has Jacob Misiorowski performed out of the bullpen?
Jacob Misiorowski now has three appearances as a reliever in which each time he pitched multiple innings. In these opportunities he has covered 5.2 innings, no hits allowed, no walks allowed, and he has seven strikeouts. During his most recent outing his velocity topped out at 99.8 MPH and on eight occasions his fastball registered at 98 MPH.
Does Jacob Misiorowski have an innings limit this year?
A season ago Jacob Misiorowski was shut down early after logging 71.1 innings pitched. This year he is up to 88.1. Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy has not revealed that he has an innings limit, but he has expressed that they will be cautious with him.
September call ups are a little over a week away. At that time big league teams have the ability to carry two extra players that includes having 14 pitchers on the roster. It will be interesting to see if the Milwaukee Brewers promote Jacob Misiorowski to the big leagues at that time.
