The Milwaukee Brewers gave Jackson Chourio a cautious nod of approval to participate in winter baseball during the MLB off-season as he had a desire to once again play for his home town the Aguilas Del Zulia (Zuila Eagles). Fortunately, Chourio not only avoided injury during his stint this year in the Venezuela Winter League, but he also was sensational at the plate.
Pat Murphy said that Jackson Chourio had an itch to play winter baseball for his home town
During MLB Winter Meetings, Pat Murphy was asked about Jackson Chourio’s participation in winter baseball. Murphy went on to say, “I love it, I like that he has that desire to play. He enjoys doing it. He will be close to his family and that pleases me. For now what I want is for him to stay healthy and be able to get that itch out of his system. He really wants to play there.”
Jackson Chourio was sensational in the Venezuela Winter League this year
According to journalist Daniela Jiménez in Space Aguilucho, as of December 20, 2024 Jackson Chourio is officially done playing in the Venezuela Winter League this year. Chourio managed to draw 13 plate appearances in which he hit an outstanding 6-11 with one double, two walks, two runs batted in, and no strikeouts.
