Former Milwaukee Brewers star pitcher CC Sabathia is now headed to Cooperstown. That is after he received 86.8 percent of votes to become a first-ballot Baseball Hall of Famer. On Tuesday, after learning of the incredible news, Sabathia hopped on social media and posted the following message via X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter):

That post has since garnered a ton of reactions from the fans.
From a fan who remembered one particular moment about Sabathia’s time in the big leagues: “I’ll never forget you blasting a home run at Dodger Stadium around 16–17 years ago. My father & I sat behind home plate until it got too hot. I think the game was right before you left Cleveland. Congrats!”
Another one said: “Read this hall of famers book and see the adversity he went through. All the love and all the respect you CC! Congratulations”

A six-time All-Star and a former World Series champion, Sabathia played for the Cleveland Indians from 2001 to 2008 before spending a short time with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008. He would later pitch for a decade for the New York Yankees from 2009 to 2019 before retiring.
He finished his baseball career in the MLB with a 251-161 record and 3.74 ERA to go with 3,093 strikeouts.
