Tre Norman does not produce that much for the Marquette Golden Eagles but on the night they were given the license to shoot by head coach Shaka Smart, he did so and showed he can do more than the offense.
The sophomore guard scored nine points in their repeat over the Seton Hall pirates to help his team get a back to back win after dropping three straight.
It was a blow out win and Seton Hall did not get past the 20-point lead mark after going down on a 23-40 halftime deficit.
Smart previously told reporters how impressed he was the bench’s performance during practice and with them in command of the game, he finally allowed them to see minutes more than they usually play.
It was just Norman who made the most of their minutes. Damarius Owens and Royce Parham – the two guys who are always the first ones to get called up to relieve the starting five – scored 14 points combined.
Caedin Hamilton had four while Zaide Lowery had seven points.
Walk-on players like also saw minutes in the tail-end of the game.

Bench players all have something to prove in terms of their personal career but on the court, they don’t think about that.
The relievers are programmed to play like a one single unit whoever they are sharing the court with.
“In practice, it just brings a lot of confidence,” Norman said about his performance. “The past couple weeks we’ve been finding our ground and our sturdiness as a second-five group.
“Each and every day we take the opportunity, when we go in as a five all together, that we’re not taking a back-seat to nobody. We try to go out there and kill.”
