Players To Watch For On the Marquette Golden Eagles Against the Iowa State Cyclones
In the last game for the Golden Eagles, three players scored in double figures for head coach Shaka Smart. Unsurprisingly, Kam Jones scored 20 points, grabbed six rebounds, and recorded 10 assists. Jones has been a factor in the passing game, which has evolved since Tyler Kolek left the basketball program because of graduation.
Stevie Mitchell scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds, and recorded one assist. Ben Gold also added 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, and recorded four assists. This season, the Marquette Golden Eagles have had different leading scorers in each game.
Iowa State Star Players
This season, the Cyclones could repeat as BIG12 Champions. The Kansas Jayhawks will be a major challenger to them in that conference. T.J. Otzelberger is the head coach of the Iowa State Cyclones. They have a very deep basketball team.
In the last game against the Colorado Buffaloes, Iowa State had six different players who scored in double figures. Milan Momcilovic led the way with 24 points and he also grabbed three rebounds and recorded one assist. Curtis Jones scored 19 points, grabbed six rebounds, and recorded three assists.
Keshon Gilbert scored 15 points and recorded six assists in the last game for Iowa State. Joshua Jefferson, Dishon Jackson, and Tamin Lipsey each scored 10 points against Colorado in the last meeting.
There is no question that the Marquette Golden Eagles will be facing a basketball team that has talent just like them. A win on the road against the Iowa State Cyclones would be an excellent tournament resume win for later in the season. This is a game that could very well come down to the wire and the extra hustle plays will make the difference.
