Marquette Golden Eagles alum David Joplin did not get lucky in the recently concluded NBA draft as he was not picked by any team, an outcome that matched early assessment of his NBA stock.

His closest chance to the NBA was getting a Summer League call up from Milwaukee Bucks but he barely got a playing time here.
Joplin played four seasons for the Golden Eagles’ and was the star player in his last college eligibility, finishing his college career with a Third-team All-Big East honor. He was also the Big East Sixth Man of the Year as back up to Oso Ighodaro who is in the NBA now.
He is the program’s all-time leader in games played (139), putting up a total of 139 points.

His main strength is his three point shooting, getting to seventh spot in university history for most three pointers made with 229.
The 6’8 forward was ranked as the #72 best player heading into the draft. However, there were only 60 picks available.
David Joplin will play for French club BCM
NBA life may have not welcomed him for now but he will still become a professional basketball player after finding home with French club BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque.
BCM plays for the first division league LNB Elite and also competes in the Euro Cup.

Former teammates Stevie Mitchell, Chase Ross, and Sean Jones were among the first to congratulate him.
BCM is in some sort of championship drought right now. They last won a ware in 2013 through the Leaders Cup. Their last LNB Pro A win was in the 2004 season.
Joplin can may be turn to Dwight Buycks who also played for Marquette and is also a Wisconsin-native. Buycks got to step foot in the NBA via the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015 after one season with BCM.
