Marquette Golden Eagles have been silent in the transfer portal this offseason but their forward David Joplin got his hands full right now.

Joplin is one of the three seniors who won’t be back for the next season. All three of them (which includes Kam Jones and Stevie Mitchell) are part of the starting five.
The 6’8 forward is expected to declare himself for the NBA draft after Golden Eagles’ early exit in the March Madness and he has been busy raising his stock through pre-season games.
Just recently, he was named MVP at the Reese’s All-Star Game where he scored 21 points on seven out of eight shooting.
When asked post game about his plans for the future, he had this to say:
“Playing in Portsmouth, doing work outs, and go to the NBA.”

He played a Marquette University record of 139 games and averaged 14.2 points per game, the second highest next to Kam Jones. He also posted 5.4 rpg and 1.3 apg in 34 games, all as starter.
Marquette Golden Eagles sends David Joplin to P.I.T.
Joplin, who made it to the All Big East Third Team Selection this season, has a chance to stuff his resumè ahead of the NBA draft in June as he was invited to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, one of the two events dedicated to NBA aspirants.
It is a pre-combine tournament added by the best young players in the country. Next to it is the NBA combine happening annually in Orland.
Several NBA greats graced the event. This includes Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, John Stockton, Tim Hardaway, and Ben Wallace.

It is also exclusive to basketball players.
There are a lot of college hoopers invited but Joplin’s case comes with a little extra motivation as he is the first player not only from Marquette but also from the Big East Conference to be invited to the tourney this season.
David Joplin is headed to Portsmouth as part of the pre draft process for seniors.
