Marquette basketball bucket-getter Kam Jones climbed up a notch on the Golden Eagles’ all-time 3-point list during Tuesday’s road games against the Seton Hall Pirates.
Jones entered the Seton Hall game trailing former Marquette sharpshooter Travis Diener by three 3-pointers for the third spot on the said list. The senior tied and surpassed Diener in the same Seton Hall meeting, as he went 4-for-6 from deep.
Jones also finished the game with 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field with four assists, three rebounds and three steals in 27 minutes of action to help Marquette eke out a 76-59 victory.
Markus Howard owns the Marquette basketball record for most threes in school history with 434 triples while Steve Novak is second overall with 354 connections from downtown.
Kam Jones keeps on shining for Marquette basketball
Jones has been so dependable for the Golden Eagles’ offense that is averaging 78.8 points per game. Three-point shooting isn’t exactly a strength of the Golden Eagles, as they are just 211th in the nation with a mediocre 32.8 3-point shooting percentage, but they can always rely on Jones to get buckets. So far in the 2024-25 college basketball season, Jones is putting up 19.1 points per game while averaging 6.7 dimes and 4.9 rebounds per outing.
Jones can add to his 3-point total with Marquette basketball this coming Thursday when the Golden Eagles play host to the Villanova Wildcats at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
Marquette is 16-3 overall and leads the Big East with a 7-1 conference record — tied with the No. 20 St. John’s Red Storm.
