Luke Fickell is dealing with some high expectations for the Wisconsin football program. After taking over this winter, Fickell has given the program a complete makeover. The coaching staff has been given a facelift and new recruits are flooding in. For this season, the transfer portal proved lucrative for the Badgers. Fickell is not shying away from the high expectations for the program. “There is nothing greater than having expectations, let’s be honest. The internal pressure, the things that are put upon you … you get to find out who you are,” Fickell said in a recent interview. We will definitely get to see what the program is made of this season. Wisconsin has always been in the mix in the Big Ten but this season is different. The expectation is for Wisconsin to compete for the championship in the conference and possibly a College Football Playoff berth.

Can They Meet The Expectations?
The good news is that the head of the program is not scared of the expectations. This should trickle down to the players and should increase the confidence of the team. The schedule is also fairly kind to the Badgers this season. Their toughest road games are at Purdue and at Illinois. Both of those games will be tough but they should be favored. Going to Washington State is another tough one but a non-conference loss early in the season wouldn’t be detrimental. The biggest game is when Ohio State comes to Madison on October 28th. This game could define the Big Ten.
I don’t think that there has ever been a season with this much anticipation for the Wisconsin Badgers. This team will look extremely different this season and it will be interesting to see how far they can go in year one.
