LOVB Madison and Omaha matched up for their second consecutive match with one another with the result remaining the same, Omaha winning in four sets. Last weekend Madison had the home court advantage, but this weekend Omaha did as they played their first match in Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
Deja Vu; LOVB Madison lost in four sets to Omaha for a second consecutive match
One week after losing in four sets to LOVB Omaha, Madison lost similarly with the scores this time being 25-20, 24-26, 25-18, 25-23. Omaha rallied late in the fourth set to close out the match, erasing a 23-20 Madison lead, but for most of that set Madison had control. Five Omaha players ended in double digit point totals with Jaali Winter and Kimberly Drewniok leading the way with 17 each.
Temi Thomas-Ailara was the standout player on LOVB Madison
Former Wisconsin Badger alum, Temi Thomas-Ailara, led LOVB Madison in points with 17. She finished with 16 kills and a 45.7% kill efficiency. Sarah Franklin, who wasn’t involved much in the offensive until the fourth set, finished second on the team with 13 kills. Claire Chaussee wasn’t her sharpest as she had 11 kills on 40 attempts with four errors.
Sarah Franklin had the hot hand for LOVB Madison in the 4th set, but Omaha emerged as the winner

LOVB Madison is failing to capitalize in the “red zone”
One area of concern so far for LOVB Madison is finishing off sets. Coach Matt Feurbringer acknowledged the job his opponent did by saying “Hats off to Omaha” but he also said, “Right now we’re a good volleyball team till 20, but we get in the red zone and we’re not finishing the way we could have.”
Madison now has a 1-3 record this season. Their next match will come on Saturday, January 25 against Atlanta. First serve will be at 4:30 PM CT. Last night’s match can be found below.
