In what some are calling the most surprising 2022 off-season move (sarcasm) the Packers have released QB Kurt Benkert. The 3rd string QB acclimated himself nicely within the Green Bay community. Twitter nation quickly fell in love with Kurt, and it reached his pinnacle when he came out to kneel the ball in the Packers win over the Bears. That happened on December 12th, 2021, and this was Kurt’s reaction afterwards:

All that seems to be over now:
Unless a miracle happens, it would appear that Kurt Benkert won’t ever suit up for Green Bay again. Upon learning this news he has already decided that he will be relocating across country (to the south). Per his twitter today:
We’ll be moving to FL in a week. It’s been an awesome year in GB, but I’m looking forward to creating a home base for the fam. ❤️

It would appear that Florida gets to call Kurt Benkert it’s resident going forward. He later goes on to clarify that he’ll be living in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. This is possibly as far away as you can get from any of the three cities in Florida who have a football team. Jacksonville is the closest, and it’s still over 4 hours away. While Benkert should draw some interest across the league for a veteran backup, his home in Florida certainly doesn’t seem to allude to any team currently.
Kurt will be a member of Packer Nation for the rest of his life. Packers fans will be rooting for him everywhere he goes (except maybe Minnesota or Chicago).
