You gotta learn from a loss and that’s what the Wisconsin Badgers did when they took on the court again as suggested by Kamari McGee.
The Badgers was upset by the UCLA Bruins three days ago despite huge game from their top scorers.
Steven Cro47wl said after the loss that they need to go and watch the films again to be able to prepare for their next game. Tonje said there are no moral victories despite thei0r effort to mount a comeback win against the Bruins.
They did their assignment and they aced it.
The team went berserk in the first five minutes of the game by building a 19-2 lead. Tonje and John Blackwell had eight points each.
The Cornhuskers tried to get close with an 11-0 run but the Badgers are too composed to allow a comeback as they finished the first half with a 40-28 lead.
The second half was the same for the Huskers as they scored less than one point to finish the game in a 55-83 loss.
Kamari McGee on Wisconsin Badgers’ defense
The Badgers’ defense against the Bruins was lethargic with the driving lanes open for the guards.
There were even five Bruins who scored in double digits, led by big man Aday Mara who had 22 points.
McGee said they used that game as a motivation to get back on track.
“We knew after Tuesday’s game that we had to step it up defensively,” the senior guard said post game.
“We’d seen it. We put 80 up on the board, and we still lost. We knew that it wasn’t our scoring, but the other end. We came back in to practice, we locked in a lot, a lot more than we had been defensively. We had to turn it around.”
Badgers will be tested again on Wednesday when they take on Maryland Terrapins who are just one game behind them in the Big Ten standings.
