The Milwaukee Bucks went on the road and faced the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon. The Bucks were not ready to play and they lost convincingly on the road to the Knicks by a final score of 140-106.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jalen Brunson were the stars of the show in this game. With the loss for the Bucks, they dropped to 20-17 on the year and are now the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. As for the Knicks, they improved to 26-14 on the season and are currently the third seed in the Eastern Conference.
Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes Bold Statement About New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson After the Game
After the game, Antetokounmpo spoke to the media and discussed how well Brunson played against the Bucks. Jalen Brunson scored 44 points on 61.5 percent shooting from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds, recorded six assists, and recorded one steal. Giannis Antetokounmpo said about Jalen Brunson:
“Brunson is one of the players in the league, one of the best point guards in the league… He takes his time. Whenever you show your hand, he’s gonna take advantage of that. If you leave your feet, he’s gonna advantage of that. He’s extremely smart.”
There is a great chance that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jalen Brunson are both Eastern Conference All-Star starters this season. Karl-Anthony Towns also had a big game for the Knicks. He scored 30 points and shot 62.5% from the field. Towns also grabbed 18 rebounds, recorded four assists, and recorded one steal.
Whenever the Milwaukee Bucks face the New York Knicks, it seems like they have no answer for Jalen Brunson. Brunson is one of the most difficult players to guard in the NBA.
Bucks Game Stats
Antetokounmpo scored 24 points in the game for the Milwaukee Bucks. He shot 47.6% from the field. He also grabbed 13 rebounds, two assists, and blocked one shot. Damian Lillard scored 22 points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded five assists.
Once again, the Bucks are too dependent on Antetokounmpo and Lillard to get the job done on a night-to-night basis. One of the biggest concerns for the Bucks moving forward is competing against the top-tier teams in the Eastern Conference like the Knicks.
