Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs recently grabbed attention when he shared his thoughts about the team’s roster, particularly concerning the wide receiving room. In a recent appearance on Milwaukee radio station “The Game,” Jacobs said that the Packers have wide receivers with the potential to be “really, really, really special,” but also commented that Green Bay still has no “proven” top guy downfield.
Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks caught a whiff of that take from Jacobs and had an intriguing reaction to it.
On Sunday, Wick got a special message from fellow Packers wide receiver Christian Watson via an Instagram Story post.
“Love brudda,” Watson wrote to caption a photo that shows him and Wicks together on the field.

Christian Watson sends message to Dontayvion Wicks amid Super Bowl Sunday
It’s hard to tell whether Watson’s message to Wicks had anything to do with Jacobs’ comment. In any case, it’s still nice to see Packers wide receivers showing support for each other. Watson was a WR1 for the Packers in 2024 when he was healthy.
But staying on the field for the entire season was also an issue for him, as he only played in 15 games while finishing with just 620 receiving yards and two touchdowns on just 29 receptions and 72 targets. In a Week 18 game against the Chicago Bears, Watson suffered a torn ACL injury that puts his availability to start the 2025 NFL season on the field.
As for Wicks, he had 415 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 39 catches and 76 targets in 2024.
The 2025 offseason and the upcoming NFL draft could provide additional help for the Packers’ passing attack ranked just 14th in the NFL in 2024 with 222.1 yards per outing.
