Every Green Bay Packers fan wants their team to win every game they play against an NFC North rival to be a victory, but this demand is highlighted all the more in the first game they’ll play against the division rival.
Their first NFC North opponents are the Minnesota Vikings, and it presents them with multiple interesting narratives. Not only is Sam Darnold putting up a strong performance, but Aaron Jones is also looking to repay the love he got from the Packers by celebrating like a Packer if he scores a touchdown at Lambeau Field.
However, not everything’s all gloomy for Green Bay. There are talks about Jordan Love possibly starting for Green Bay. Malik Willis is also putting up a string of strong outings as QB2, and the defense is also doing its job since tripping up against Philadelphia in Week 1.
While some may think that the duel between the Packers and Vikings will be a close one, an analyst thinks that the final score is something the Packers would not like to see.
Analyst predicts the Green Bay Packers to lose Week 4 vs. the Minnesota Vikings
ClutchPoints’ Shane Shoemaker thinks the game will be quite competitive, penning a prediction piece where both the Green Bay offense and defense have their time in the limelight.
He believes the Packers will still lose Week 4 against the Vikings, though. He thinks that regardless of who starts under center for Green Bay, there’s one flaw in Matt LaFleur’s game plan that the Vikings will exploit:
Whichever quarterback starts, it may not matter in the end. If Love plays, he’s likely to show some rust or hesitation against Minnesota’s relentless pass rush. With Willis, there are concerns about his lack of experience and ability to lead the offense. In his two starts, he’s only reach 200 yards one, and barely that against the Titans last week and has completed just 15 of 33 pass attempts. That level of production likely won’t be enough to beat the Vikings.
The Minnesota defense has been relentless through the season’s early stages, only allowing 932 total yards across 198 plays. Meanwhile, the Packers ceded 985 yards across 180 snaps. With a passing game that is still incomplete regardless of which QB will start, Green Bay will find the odds stacked against them.
