If the Green Bay Packers want to get to the mountaintop of the NFL once again, they need to fix the line of scrimmage on the defensive side of the football. The key to winning championships is winning the line of scrimmage up front and disrupting the other team from scoring points.
The Green Bay Packers needs to find a way to create a fearful defensive line. The Packers did not have a fearful defense up front last season. There is no doubt that the defensive line needs to be fixed this offseason, especially since they switched from a 3-4 scheme to a 4-3 scheme last season.
Latest CBS Sports Mock Draft Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Texas A&M Aggies Nic Scourton In the First-Round
CBS Sports writer Garrett Poddell created his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. With the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he has the Green Bay Packers selecting Texas A&M Aggies edge rusher Nic Scourton. Poddell said:
“Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst loves to throw resources in bunches at positions of need, and the pass rush is a blinking red light for Green Bay. That’s why edge rusher Nic Scourton makes sense. He’s 6-4, 285 pounds with a strong spin move while also being solid against the run. His 29 tackles for loss since 2023 are tied for the eighth most in the country, and he’ll be 20 years old on draft night. A young, athletic edge with untapped potential is a Gutekunst classic.”
Nic Scourton this past season with the Aggies recorded 37 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble, and two pass deflections. He is 6’4″ and weighs 285 lbs. Scourton is one of several Aggies defensive players who could very well be drafted within the first two rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
