The Green Bay Packers are 11-5 and have clinched a spot in the NFL Playoffs for the second year in a row. Due to the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings each being 14-2, they have also clinched third-place in the NFC North. Knowing this, and what other two divisions Green Bay was scheduled to face in 2025, most of their opponents for next season can already be determined.

Along with six games against their division rivals, the Packers will also play each team in the AFC North and NFC East. Additionally, they will play the third place team in the NFC West (Cardinals) and NFC South (Saints or Panthers).
The Green Bay Packers Are Rumored to Be Playing the Pittsburgh Steelers in Ireland Next Season
Earlier today, it was reported that the Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will face off at some point next season in the NFL’s first ever game played in Ireland. As Green Bay is scheduled to visit Pittsburgh in 2025, this would be one of their road games.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette wrote, “The Steelers are expecting to play a regular season game in Ireland in 2025, their first international game in 12 years, according to team sources.” Their last international game was a loss to the Vikings in London in 2013.
Noah Strackbein, who covers the Steelers for Sports Illustrated, wrote yesterday, “According to a source, the Steelers are expected to play the Green Bay Packers in Ireland. Pittsburgh would operate as the home team, while Green Bay would view it as an away matchup.”
On one hand, this would be good news for the Packers, who have not won a game in Pittsburgh since 1970. On the other hand, they are also 0-2 in international games. The Aaron Rodgers-led Packers lost to the New York Giants in London in 2022 and this year’s team, led by Jordan Love, lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.
The Green Bay Packers Release a Statement Regarding Rumors They Will Play in Ireland in 2025
Fox 11 News in Green Bay reached out to the Packers concerning the multiple reports that the team would be traveling to Ireland in 2025 to face the Steelers. Per their website, this was the response that they received:
“We’ve seen the reports but haven’t seen any official announcements by the NFL. We’ll refer to the NFL, since they make announcements about the schedule.”
It is true that the NFL has not made any announcements regarding next year’s schedule. As noted above, the Steelers reporters who broke the story cited team sources that remained anonymous.
However, the likelihood that Green Bay will be one of the teams that plays in Ireland next year is quite high, all things considered.
As an addition, the Packers currently have the only Irish-born player in the NFL on their roster: punter Daniel Whelan.
