The Green Bay Packers made a marquee addition along the offensive line during Monday’s negotiating window ahead of free agency getting underway.
General manager Brian Gutekunst and the Packers agreed to terms with veteran offensive guard Aaron Banks, on a four-year deal worth $77 million that has the potential to have a major impact both on quarterback Jordan Love’s development, as well as the offense’s ability to pound the rock with running back Josh Jacobs.

Banks, 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds, was a force along the San Francisco 49ers’ offensive line.
The 27-year-old only allowed one sack and four quarterback hits last season, according to Pro Football Focus, while finishing with a strong 65.4 overall grade as the outlet’s No. 50 ranked offensive guard.
Adding Banks is a worthy counterpunch to some of the elite pass rushers the Packers are tasked with overcoming in Green Bay’s bid to unseat the Detroit Lions in the NFC North and overcome teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles on the road to a Super Bowl.
