The Green Bay Packers made cornerback a priority in free agency, signing former Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Nate Hobbs last week. With Hobbs in tow, the Packers now all but have their starting secondary figured out for the 2025 NFL season. Carrington Valentine and Keisean Nixon played well on the boundary last year, and Hobbs will likely play in the slot.
But after them, well, the depth chart is pretty bare. Jaire Alexander is still on the roster, but very few expect him to be back in 2025 barring a miraculous change of heart from either him, the organization, and/or both.
And now, Green Bay saw one of their other corners sign with a Super Bowl contender.
Former Green Bay Packers Cornerback Robert Rochelle Signed with the Kansas City Chiefs

One of Green Bay’s depth pieces, Robert Rochelle, played primarily on special teams over the last two seasons. He did, however, provide a bit of a security blanket for the Packers, who had him on the roster in the event injuries piled up too much.
Well, now they will need to replace him.
On Friday afternoon, it was reported that Rochelle had signed with the Kansas City Chiefs:
Free-agent CB Robert Rochell, who spent last season with the Packers, reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Chiefs, per @UniSportsMgmt CEO Kevin Conner.

A Super Bowl Champion with the Los Angeles Rams his rookie year, Rochelle will provide Kansas City with defensive back depth as well as above-average special teams play.
As for the Packers, cornerback remains a glaring need on their roster. Rochelle is the third player at the position that Green Bay as seen depart in free agency. Eric Stokes signed with the Raiders and Corey Ballentine left for the Indianapolis Colts.
As mentioned, the Packers have the players they feel are good enough to start on defense at the position. However, the depth is now sorely lacking. While they may not target a cornerback in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft, fans should expect them to take multiple secondary players this year.
