Make it five straight victories for LOVB Madison!  Most recently Madison defeated Salt Lake in an intense five set match in which the scores were 20-25, 25-15, 17-25, 32-30, 15-7.  Annie Drews Schumacher continued her hot streak and was the player of the game with 26 kills.

In a game that featured several long rallies as well as point streaks from each team, Madison came out on top of this match in five sets.  Annie Drews Schumahcer led Madison’s offensive attack, but Jennifer Janiska also had 14 kills and Sarah Franklin 10.  Outside hitter Janiska was huge in the fifth set, as she got four of her kills in that final set.

LOVB Madison is now third in the standings

After being in last place for most of the season, Madison is now third in the standings with a 6-7 record.  This winning streak has them within striking distance of second place Houston, who has an 8-5 record.  With three games left before the finals, overtaking Houston would be important because then Madison would have a first round bye during the finals.  If they remain in third place, they would not get the luxury of a bye.

Madison plays next on Saturday, March 29 against Austin.  After that they will play Salt Lake again on April 4 and then close out the regular season on April 5 against Houston.   The Finals will be played April 10-13.
