The Green Bay Packers were able to take care of business against the San Francisco 49ers, dominating them by a final score of 38-10.
All game long, the Packers were in control. That was expected after both Brock Purdy and Nick Bosa were ruled out for the game, but they still need to get the job done.
With the win, Green Bay moved to 8-3 on the season. Right now, their positioning for the playoffs is looking very strong.
Green Bay Packers’ Playoff Positioning Is Looking Great Heading Into Week 13
Zach Kruse of Packers Wire shared an outlook for the Green Bay Packers when it comes to the NFL playoffs. He shared some very important information that shows just how good the Packers should be feeling.
As Kruse noted, Green Bay now has at least a two-game lead in the win column over all other Wild Card contenders and they also have head-to-head tiebreakers over the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers.
That is a great spot to be in.
Throughout the course of the 2024 NFL season, the Packers have shown signs of being a serious Super Bowl contender. However, there have also been some concerns.
Jordan Love has been solid, but he has made far too many dangerous passes. Even against the 49ers, he threw a few passes that should have been intercepted, but San Francisco defenders dropped those passes.
If they can clean things up and take care of the football, Green Bay should feel very good about their chances.
Defensively, the Green Bay Packers stepped up once again this week. They forced an interception and two forced fumbles and did not allow the 49ers to move the football consistently. It’s the defense that makes them a more serious Super Bowl contender than the offense.
All of that being said, the stage has been set for what should be a very entertaining Thanksgiving night game against the Miami Dolphins. Should the Packers be able to pull out a win in that game in move to 9-3, their playoff odds would take another big-time jump.

How can Green Bay have “at least a two game lead in the win column over all other wildcard contenders”, when they are third in the division, with a record worse than Minnesota?
