The Green Bay Packers will be looking for defensive line talent in the 2025 NFL Draft. There have been a lot of mock drafts that have linked them to drafting defensive lineman in the first-round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Green Bay will also need to draft cornerback and wide receiver help, but the Packers may wait until the later rounds to take those positions. The Ohio State Buckeyes will have a lot of talented players entering the 2025 NFL Draft. Ohio State could have several players drafted in the first two rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Green Bay Packers Select Ohio State Buckeyes Edge Rusher JT Tuimolau In First Round Of Mock Draft By The Athletic
The Athletic staff created its latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft. With the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, they have the Green Bay Packers selecting Ohio State Buckeyes edge rusher JT Tuimolau. He is 6’5″ and weighs 269 lbs. The Athletic said about the Packers making this selection:
“The highlight reel of JTT completely wrecking Penn State’s upset bid in his breakout game in 2022 is worth a rewatch. The Packers elevate their pass rush here with one of the most disruptive players (12.5 sacks) on the best defense in the county. If the Packers address the pass rush in free agency, I’d break the franchise mold and snag a wide receiver. I know, I know, that’s not what the Packers do. But Matthew Golden or Luther Burden III could be huge assets for Jordan Love. — Snyder”
To go along with 12.5 sacks this season, he had 61 tackles, two forced fumbles, and three pass deflections. JT Tuimolau would instantly start on the Green Bay Packers defensive line. For now, he is a late first-round pick to an early second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Improving the Defense
The goal for the Packers this offseason is to improve the defensive line. Tuimolau would no doubt help in the 4-3 scheme that Green Bay runs. They need to create more havoc up front and he did that with the Ohio State Buckeyes this past season.
There is a chance that he could climb up draft boards depending on the scouting combine and other workouts go. If JT Tuimolau is available with the 23rd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Packers need to hand in the card immediately.
