The Green Bay Packers will be meeting with several NFL draft prospects during the NFL scouting combine. There will be a lot of players that the Packers are going to be paying close attention to.

Some of the positions that are a dire need this offseason for the Green Bay Packers are defensive line, cornerback, and wide receiver. The Michigan Wolverines will have a bunch of talented defensive and offensive players in the 2025 NFL Draft. It would not be a surprise to see a couple of Michigan players drafted in the first-round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Green Bay Packers Met With Michigan Wolverines Tight End Colston Loveland During the NFL Scouting Combine

The Michigan Wolverines have a few potential first-round picks this season. Mason Graham and Will Johnson are two of the biggest names from that school in the 2025 NFL Draft. Another Michigan player who could potentially get drafted in the first-round is Wolverines tight end Colston Loveland.
Easton Butler said on his Twitter page:
“The Packers had a formal interview with Michigan TE Colston Loveland at the Combine, per a source.”
This is very interesting that the Green Bay Packers met with Loveland. He can very well be available with the 23rd overall pick in the 20225 NFL Draft. Loveland and Tyler Warren of the Penn State Nittany Lions are two tight ends who could very well be drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Last season with Michigan, Loveland caught 56 passes for 582 yards receiving and five touchdowns, along with averaging 10.4 yards per reception. He is 6’5″ and weighs 245 lbs. The Packers must be doing their due diligence on him in case a team wants to trade up with Green Bay in the first-round and they decide to trade back.
Drafting Colston Loveland Would Make No Sense

It would not make any sense for the Packers to draft a tight end in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Green Bay already has Tucker Kraft as the starting tight end for next season. The only way the Packers do this is for two reasons only. They feel like Luke Musgrave won’t be on the roster next season and head coach Matt LaFleur might want to run a two tight-end offense.
Having a two tight end offense could be ideal for quarterback Jordan Love. However, drafting Colston Loveland in the first-round in the 2025 NFL Draft instead of a defensive lineman or cornerback would be another head-scratching decision by general manager Brian Gutekunst. There is a chance that the Michigan Wolverines tight end could also be gone by the time the Green Bay Packers are selecting.
