The Green Bay Packers saw their postseason run come to a premature end with their 22-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Wild Card Weekend. Already missing star players Christian Watson and Jaire Alexander, Green Bay saw Elgton Jenkins, Devonte Wyatt, and Romeo Doubs all leave the game early with injuries.
Additionally, center Josh Myers left the game late in the fourth quarter with what looked like a terrible leg injury.
Of course, these injuries were not the reason the Packers lost. They certainly did not help, but the fact of the matter is that Green Bay seemed ill-prepared to take on an extremely talented Eagles team. Additionally, self-inflicted mistakes that plagued the Packers all season continued to rear their ugly head in this game.
The Green Bay Packers Had Four Turnovers and Two Personal Fouls
Green Bay got off to an awful start from the opening kickoff. Keisean Nixon fumbled the opening kickoff, giving Philadelphia a short field, which they turned into an early touchdown.
Once they got the ball on offense, however, the Packers fell into their same old habits of starting slow. They could not advance the ball down the field, and whenever they did get some momentum going, Jordan Love threw an interception.
Love threw two picks in the first half that killed Green Bay drives.
Late in the game, Nixon and defensive lineman TJ Slaton were both whistled for personal fouls that allowed the Eagles to advance an extra 15 yards on each play.
As the Packers tried to score late in the fourth quarter after the two-minute warning, Love threw his third interception of the game.
The undisciplined nature of the Packers play and their inability to start games well on offense has fans all saying similar things about head coach Matt LaFleur.
Green Bay Packers Fans Want More Out of Matt LaFleur
The fact of the matter is that the quality of play on the field begins and ends with LaFleur and his ability to prepare the team for each game. This year, especially late in the season, it does not appear that he has done a good job of doing so.
Fans took to social media towards the end of the game to voice their frustrations about the head coach:
This is the big question. MLF called the offense all season like he doesn’t trust Love. https://t.co/2T1c38itV8

I think the biggest knock on MLF is allowing Bisaccia to stick around year after year while consistently having a unit that’s constantly making mistakes.

I’m not saying fired Matt Lafleur but we need to have a discussion about him as our coach #Packers

This one is on Matt LaFleur, injuries, and the refs.
Zero percent on Jordan Love, zero percent on the defense.
Undisciplined, unprepared, and overall gotta question if MLF will ever get his GB teams over the hump. @Packers #GoPackGo

Let’s go start the press conference I wanna hear LaFleur. “Team wasn’t prepared, that’s on me, we’ll be better next year”
— Packers Nation (@RunTheTablePt2) January 13, 2025
Green Bay, you’ve got a lot of work to do. Gotta get tougher and more disciplined. Your were undeserving of your playoff spot because of it. Matt Lafleur needs to be a better coach. Jordan Love has to be better. Players have to grow up and do what is needed to be great.

As one can see, fans are tired of the undisciplined football and how often the team has not been prepared this year. They are the youngest team in the NFL, but expectations were much higher than this.
The truth of the matter is that LaFleur has to do a better job of holding his players accountable. If he had done a better job of that earlier, these mistakes would not have happened in the playoffs.
