Mason Crosby spent his 16-year NFL career becoming one of the best Green Bay Packers players of all time. On March 5th, 2025, two years after his last NFL snaps and just a day after the Packers re-signed kicker Brandon McManus, Crosby re-signed with the Packers as well, retiring with the franchise that took a chance on him in the 6th round 18 years ago.

Mason Crosby Signs Contract to Retire With Green Bay Packers
Mason Crosby was drafted in the 6th round of the 2007 NFL Draft. A kicker from the University of Colorado, Crosby joined the Packers and immediately became the starter. A career 81.4% field goal kicker, he is one of 15 kickers in NFL history to make 400 or more field goals.

Crosby initially departed the Packers in 2022 and played three games with the New York Giants in 2023. He has not played in the league since, but now is officially retiring from professional football.
The Packers have had some kicking issues since Crosby’s departure, but after a solid season from veteran Brandon McManus in 2024, the team re-signed McManus just a day before Crosby’s decision.

Mason Crosby Goes Down As One of the Greatest Packers in History

After achieving the incredible record, which was previously held by Brett Favre, Crosby spoke about what it takes to remain consistent in the NFL.
“It’s just being available, trying to keep your body as healthy as possible. Even if I’m dinged up and stuff doesn’t always feel perfect, it’s just knowing that it’s important to be on the field and be available for this team.”
Crosby has played with Packers legends including Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Charles Woodson, and more. He has remained active in the Packers community since his last NFL snaps, hosting the Mason Crosby Show on local radio.
