The Green Bay Packers overhauled their roster following the 2021 season, which saw them exit in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs despite being the top seed in the NFC that year. Slowly but surely, they started to move on from long-time veteran players in favor of young draft picks. Of course, one of the first moves they made was trading wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for two high draft picks.
But moving Adams was far from their only move. Following the 2022 season, Green Bay most notably traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets to pave the way for Jordan Love. In addition to that decision, the Packers opted not to re-sign kicker Mason Crosby, the franchise’s all-time leading scorer. Instead, they selected Anders Carlson in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, a move that would end up being disastrous.
Former Green Bay Packers Kicker Mason Crosby Has Retired from the NFL

Earlier this week, it was reported that Crosby has officially decided to retire. He did not play in the NFL in 2024, last appearing in a game with the New York Giants late in the 2023 season.
Over the last year, Crosby has been hosting his own sports talk radio show in Milwaukee (1250 the Fan). However, his official retirement, which will be finalized after he signs a one-day contract with Green Bay to retire a Packer, has fans fondly remembering all of the times he came in clutch for the team.
Today, he released a statement that read in part:
“Retiring as a Packers is my way of saying that even though I may now live in another state, I am still that ambassador. But now instead of cheering me on, it is my turn to champion and celebrate what is all being accomplished in Wisconsin. You will continue to hear and see me around, doing what I can to shine a spotlight on all the amazing things that happen in the area and also helping vital groups in the community.”
And one of those great things about the state of Wisconsin is the Packers organization itself, and Crosby is keen to see one of his former teammates come back home.
Mason Crosby Would Like Davante Adams to Return to the Green Bay Packers

As mentioned, Crosby hosts a radio show that airs in Milwaukee now. On one particular social media post, the station posted about the DK Metcalf trade rumors and if the Packers will be able to make a deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
Crosby, though, would like to see Adams come back:
I’m still all in on bringing @tae15adams back! https://t.co/7EGKvZID8H

Adams was recently released by the Jets and is now a free agent. While he has teased a desire to return to the Packers throughout the offseason, he has also been linked to West Coast teams that may be able to offer him the chance to play closer to home.
That being said, there sure are a lot of current and former Packers players that would like to see the organization bring Adams back to Green Bay.
