The Green Bay Packers will be looking to get additional defensive help this offseason. When the season concludes, two positions that the Packers will need to address are the defensive line and cornerback.
There is also a chance that the Green Bay Packers could get additional help at the linebacker position this offseason as well. There will be a lot of free agents that the Green Bay Packers could potentially sign.
Bleacher Report Thinks That the Green Bay Packers Could Be a Landing Spot For Khalil Mack This Offseason
Khalil Mack is currently focused on his playoff run with the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers will be facing the Houston Texans this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT on CBS. After the season, it is possible that Los Angeles will not re-sign Mack, who was a former first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
The Bleacher Report Scouting Department thinks that the Green Bay Packers could be a potential landing spot for Khalil Mack in free agency this offseason. They said:
“Chargers pass-rusher Khalil Mack will turn 34 in February, which is the only real knock on the potential future Hall of Famer. He remains a regular contributor—he played 61 percent of the Chargers’ defensive snaps in 2024—and a capable sack artist.
Mack finished the regular season with six sacks, six tackles for loss and 22 quarterback pressures. Those aren’t eye-catching numbers, but it’s worth noting that Mack battled a groin injury late in the season. He had four sacks after eight games and was incredibly productive a year ago when he tallied 17 sacks, 21 tackles for loss and 36 quarterback pressures.
While Mack’s age will likely keep him away from teams in the early stages of a rebuild, he should be coveted by those with realistic 2025 playoff aspirations.
The Packers could make sense as a landing spot. Green Bay was able to pressure opposing quarterbacks (45 sacks), but it often relied on interior defenders to do so. Packers passing game coordinator Derrick Ansley was Mack’s defensive coordinator in L.A. in 2023.”
It would be interesting to see what would happen if the Packers signed Khalil Mack this offseason. It would be a good addition to Green Bay’s defensive line. However, Mack can’t be the only move they would need to make on the defensive line this NFL offseason.
Atlanta Falcons Could Be a Suitor As Well
The other team that Mack could go to this offseason is the Atlanta Falcons. The Bleacher Report Scouting Department thinks that could be his other destination other than the Green Bay Packers. Atlanta just missed the playoffs in the NFC South and finished with an 8-9 record.
It would be hard to believe to see Khalil Mack back with the Los Angeles Chargers next season. The Packers can’t afford to miss out on a star defensive lineman like Mack or others this NFL offseason.
