The Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans are headed into new eras in their respective organizations. The Packers feel as though Jordan Love proved in 2023 that he is the next franchise quarterback. The Titans are in the midst of trying to find their own. They have high hopes for Will Levis, however, they haven’t seen enough yet to be confident.
There are a few notable players expected to move on from the Titans this off-season, and one could find his way to Green Bay.
The Green Bay Packers Could Land Premier Philadelphia Eagles Free Agent
According to one report:
The Packers find themselves in a precarious position, with the safety spot identified as a glaring vulnerability. The looming free agency of key players, including Darnell Savage and Jonathan Owens, exacerbates the need for a seasoned and reliable presence.
Byard’s proven track record and leadership could be the catalyst for elevating the Packers’ defense to new heights.
What Would Kevin Byard Bring To The Packers?
A two-time All-Pro with the Titans, Byard was part of a bad Eagles secondary in the second half of 2023. At the end of the regular season, the Eagles lost five of their last six games, followed by a 32-9 wild-card round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While Byard wasn’t to blame for that, he wasn’t a significant contributor either. In 11 games with the Eagles, Byard intercepted one pass. In his age-31 season, he will become a free agent.
The Packers may be able to get Byard on their team for relatively cheap. The Packers are likely going to completely revamp their Safety position. Jeff Hafley made it clear that Safety is one of the most important positions on his defense. Would a veteran like Byard make the cut?
Packers fans took to Twitter (X) when they found out Byard is being linked to Green Bay:
A month ago, Jason wrote about Kevin Byard and Haason Reddick as possibilities for the #Packers in trades.
Byard has now been cut. https://t.co/vyxKbm2ruV
