Another need for the Green Bay Packers this offseason is trying to find another pass rusher to disrupt the quarterback. With the NFC North being loaded with talented quarterbacks like Caleb Williams, Jared Goff, and either Sam Darnold or J.J. McCarthy for the Minnesota Vikings next season, Green Bay needs to improve the defensive line.
There is no doubt that the Green Bay Packers will explore all avenues to try and land a pass rusher this offseason. They will try to trade for a star potentially on the market, but there is a chance that they might have to wait until the NFL Draft to find a talented player. It will be interesting to see how it will play out for them this offseason.
Pro Football Network Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Michigan Wolverines EDGE Rusher Josaiah Stewart In the Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
The Pro Football Network has the Green Bay Packers selecting 87th overall in the third round of the 2025 NFL Mock Draft. With that selection for Green Bay, they have them taking Michigan Wolverines edge rusher Josaiah Stewart with this selection. The Pro Football Network said:
“Josaiah Stewart is a high-energy edge rusher with excellent burst and the ability to create consistent backfield disruption. His quick first step and refined hand techniques make him a difficult matchup for offensive tackles, allowing him to generate pressure from a variety of alignments.
Stewart’s agility and balance enable him to bend around the edge effectively, while his strength and effort make him a reliable run defender. He shows excellent instincts in diagnosing plays and pursuing the ball with relentless effort.
With improved consistency in counter moves, Stewart has the tools to be a highly impactful pass rusher in any defensive scheme.”
This past season with the Michigan Wolverines, he recorded 33 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Josaiah Stewart is 6’1″ and weighs 245 lbs. The Green Bay Packers need another pass rusher like Stewart on the roster. They struggled sacking the quarterback last season and no one on the roster recorded 10 sacks.
Pass Rushing Help
There is no doubt that the Green Bay Packers will need to draft pass rushers or find some help in that department. Rashan Gary was the team leader in sacks with 7.5.
It also would not hurt Green Bay to draft a player like Stewart and sign someone else or make a trade. Lukas Van Ness has not been the defensive lineman that the Packers had hoped for over the last two seasons. Green Bay needs players who can help right away and need to stop looking at projects also.
