The Green Bay Packers are coming off a convincing win against the Dallas Cowboys. In a game that was not all that close, Jordan Love had a dominant win against what had been heralded by many as a strong Dallas defense. Leading his team to victory, there are still of course those who continue to doubt Love and his ability to lead an offense.
However, one interesting comparison can be drawn with someone who seemingly has (deserved) universal approval. For those who are yet to be impressed with Love, this series of stats should show that at this point in his career, he is still underrated.
We are all familiar with the Spiderman meme! Two Spidermen who stumbled on each other and are pointing, acknowledging their awesomeness. There is the sense of “you’re me? You can do what I do?” The same can be said of Jordan Love and CJ Stroud.
Both are promising young rookie quarterbacks, and both have been able to lead their teams to playoff wins, but the similarities do not end there. The NFL on CBS X account pointed out several eerily similar stats that almost seem scripted. While both are not rookies, they are still taking the reigns of the franchise for the first time, so their progress and success really can be seen in a similar impressive light.
Love and Stroud both completed 16 of 21 passes in their opening playoff game. Stoud only threw for two more yards, throwing for 274 total passing yards, compared to 272 from Love. Both threw for three touchdowns and zero interceptions. And their passer ratings are also identical at 157.2.

Green Bay Packers And Texans Divisional Playoff Games
Love and Stroud put up great performances that may have come as surprises to those fanbases that were too focused on their teams. For many, the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys were seen as heavy favorites, especially defensively.
For the Green Bay Packers quarterback and the Houston Texans quarterback to go in and out duel two established veterans in the way that they did is nothing short of amazing. And while neutral observers or other fans may have known Stroud and his accomplishments more, it’s beyond time to start including Love in the conversations of notable and top-tier quarterbacks.
Green Bay Packers From Here
Unfortunately for this team, the reward after beating “America’s Team” is to face a loaded San Francisco 49ers roster. Can they beat a team that was once seen as completely unbeatable during various parts of the season? Absolutely. This team has peaked and the final score against Dallas was a reflection of Dallas trying to backdoor cover against backups. But make zero mistake, it was a route.
While the margin for error may be less against this 49ers team, teams that were the aggressors and didn’t allow the 49ers to get the first lead have found success. For a Green Bay Packers team that is confident and playing lights out, led by their quarterback, it could be a repeat of what we saw against the Cowboys.
