The Green Bay Packers are hoping to build off of their convincing Week 9 win over the Los Angeles Rams. That game improved their record to 3-5 behind an excellent performance from Jordan Love, a dominant run game, and stout defensive play.
Unfortunately, the win came at a cost. Numerous players left the game with injuries and/or are now on the injury report due to injuries reported after the game. On the bright side, head coach Matt LaFleur and Packers beat writers reported that Quay Walker and Rudy Ford, who both missed the Rams game with injuries, returned to practice on Wednesday.
But while Green Bay got two starters back, they also saw one of their biggest stars added to the injury report with a new ailment.

Green Bay Packers Cornerback Jaire Alexander Suffered a Should Injury Against the Rams

Dan Powers/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin.
When addressing the media today, LaFleur revealed that Alexander was “a little banged up” during the game on Sunday, which was why he did not practice on Wednesday. He did not, at that time, reveal the nature of the injury and many assumed that it was Alexander’s nagging back issue.
However, when the injury report came out later in the afternoon, it was revealed that the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback suffered a shoulder injury against the Rams. While he was a “did not participate” designation, the actual severity of the injury is not known.
In 2021, Alexander missed all but four games due to a severe shoulder injury he suffered in Week Four against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Who Will Start for the Green Bay Packers If Jaire Alexander Cannot Play?

The Packers are already without the services of Rasul Douglas, whom they traded to the Buffalo Bills prior to the NFL trade deadline. That move meant that 2023 seventh round rookie Carrington Valentine is the new starter.
If Alexander is not able to play, that will mean that Corey Ballentine or Robert Rochell will be the other starter. Ballentine has played in five games for Green Bay already this year and appeared in eight games for them last year. Rochell was recently signed off of the off of the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad.
