By and large, Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are on solid ground. While they are just third in the NFC North division standings with a 9-4 record, they are on the right track to making the NFL playoffs.
That being said, the Packers are a team that is not without some concerns. One of which was touched on by former NFL wide receiver Andrew Hawkins, who played for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns and also signed a deal with the New England Patriots in 2017.
Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love’s ball-security
“This Packers team will go as Jordan Love’s ability to limit turnovers go, Hawkins said during a recent NFL Live” on ESPN.
So far in the 2024 NFL regular season, Love has thrown for 2,724 passing yards and 21 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. Hawkins praised Love for having ball security of late while also stressing his point of the quarterback’s need to sustain that form.
The 26-year-old signal-caller is on a three-game interception-less streak, but also
“And he’s done great the last couple of games, but we still know the quarterback he is. And keeping that at bay is paramount. You’re seeing here, like his development there has been the biggest change in this offense,” Hawkins continued.
It goes without saying that Love is an extremely important part of the Packers’ plan, so it’s great for Green Bay to see him improve on the turnover area, as that adds ceiling to the team’s offense which is ranked seventh in the NFL overall with an average of 26.8 points per game.
“He’s been very more pointed in how he’s seeing the entire picture of the defense and making sure he’s not falling for the fool’s gold and diagnosing the play the right way. His ability to continue to do that throughout the season and to the most important part of the season will dictate with the Packers,” Hawkins added.
The Packers have a date up next with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
