The Green Bay Packers finalized their coaching staff for the 2025 NFL season weeks ago. They had to replace four coaches on Matt LaFleur‘s staff for a variety of reasons. Defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich was fired and replaced with former New England Patriots defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington. Quarterbacks coach Tom Clements retired (again) and was replaced by Sean Mannion.
But two other coaches, Anthony Campanile and Anthony Perkins, had to be replaced for a different reasons. Campanile, who was Green Bay’s linebacker coach last year, was hired as the new defensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He brought Perkins, a defensive assistant for the Packers, with him as his secondary coach.
These two coaches were replaced by Sean Duggan and Jamael Lett respectively.
And while these hirings/promotions were met with relative approval from fans, one coaching decision had them up in arms.
Green Bay Packers Fans Were Not Happy Rich Bisaccia Got a Contract Extension

In addition these changes, LaFleur also decided to extend the contract of special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia. Due to his unit’s overall underwhelming performances ever since he arrived in Green Bay, many fans were not happy with this decision.
Over the years, Packers fans have questioned why LaFleur keeps Bisaccia on staff:

Green Bay Packers Linebacker Isaiah McDuffie Praises Rich Bisaccia

Tork Mason
In a recent interview with Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Isaiah McDuffie, who just signed a two-year extension with Green Bay was asked Bisaccia’s own extension. He stated:
“I love Rich. He’s one of my favorite coaches I’ve ever had. Again, he’s another one — he’s the same person every day and he’s gonna love you hard, he’s gonna coach you hard and he’s gonna get the best out of you. He brought a new culture to special teams for the Packers when he got here and there’s a lot of pride in the special teams unit and it all starts with him, so yeah, I just love Rich and I love playing for him.”
McDuffie only played 28% of special teams snaps in 2024, the lowest in his career. However, he played 61% in Bisaccia’s first season as Green Bay’s special teams coordinator and 48% in 2023.
