The Green Bay Packers are just one off-season removed from choosing Anders Carlson over Mason Crosby. It was a move that seemed to create a divide between some Packers fans. Many wanted to keep Crosby while others felt moving on from him was long overdue.
However, the franchise’s all-time leading scorer will continue to draw the interest of Packers fans for as long as he is trying to play (and long after). One rant he recently went on certainly caught the eye of fans across multiple sports.
Former Green Bay Packers Kicker Mason Crosby Goes Off About Caitlin Clark
There was a lot of buzz going into Saturday’s Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky game, since former women’s college basketball rivals Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese met for the first time professionally.
In terms of storyline and matchup, the matchup and storyline more than met Fever fans’ expectations, although the reason why might not be as satisfying.
A physical defense was utilized against Clark, as has been a trend in the WNBA this season. One of the most visible moment of this came late in the third quarter of Indiana’s 71-70 win over Chicago.
Chennedy Carter pushed Clark to the floor from behind as the Fever led 53-49 and were getting ready to inbound the ball. After reviewing Carter’s actions, the officials gave her a common foul. This foul resulted in a free throw (which Clark made) and possession for the Fever because it was a foul away from the ball.
The ESPN broadcast picked up Clark saying “that’s not a basketball play” after falling to the ground on the foul. Mason Crosby felt the same way:
My question is why aren’t her teammates stepping up and defending her when this happens?! See a teammate get a cheap shot you have to be ready to jump in. https://t.co/1xmG12oC5w

Here is a video of the foul:
Okay, this IS HATING on Caitlin Clark. Face guarding, extremely aggressive play and the occasional hard foul can be describe as competitiveness. Going out of your way to call her out of her name and body check her to the floor without the ball is HATING. https://t.co/osFk320wMp pic.twitter.com/cRtiSnDVkm

According to John Leuzzi of The Indy Star:
Clark further expanded on her initial comments that were picked up by ESPN during her postgame news conference Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
“I wasn’t expecting that, but it’s just, ‘Respond, calm down and let your play do the talking.’ It is what it is,” Clark said.
According to Zion Brown of the Indy Star, Carter did not comment when asked about the situation, saying “next question.”
Clark has already spoken on the physical play she has faced early in her WNBA career, saying players are “getting away with things.”
“I think everybody is physical with me. They get away with things that probably other people don’t get away with and it’s tough. But that’s just the fact of the matter, this is a very physical game. But yeah, you’re going to get pressure, that’s just professional basketball. I think it is what it is honestly,” Clark said Tuesday following Indiana’s game to Los Angeles.
She added Thursday after the Fever’s loss to Seattle: “I feel like I’m getting hammered.”
Clark finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the Fever’s first home win of the season.

Caitlin Clark should play for the new Oakland team.the coach left her out and shocking her teammate’s don’t even defend each other.coach doesn’t want a T. traid her to Oakland so she can be with a real coach and real teammates. Raiders,A’s and warriors always take care of their own. The fanbase here is the best and she will be with a Championship team. one she helped build. If that management cares traid her and give her a real coach and teammate’s who can go to war together and stand as one.
