Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft shared some big words ahead of their Week 14 showdown against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. Kraft is seemingly looking forward to an on-field encounter against Lions defensive back Kerby Joseph.
On Sunday, Kraft appeared to send a subtle warning to Joseph, who played a major role in Detroit’s 24-14 win at Lambeau Field back in Week 9. In that contest, Joseph had four tackles, a pass defended and an interception returned for a touchdown.
(h/t Ryan Wood of USA TODAY):
“He’s a respectable player in the NFC. But in my mind, I’m not really worried about DBs too often,” Kraft said of Joseph.
“I’m worried more about the guys in the box, and I’m sure they bring guys down, safety rotation. And we target them in the run. But it’s just a different game. I don’t have too many tidbits on Kerby. I know he’s a dangerous player. He can flip games. He’s a good DB. I might not agree with some of the places he likes to lay contact. He’s taken some of my brothers out of the game, and I think about that too. So if I get a chance to get my hands on him, you know, playing football.”
Kraft, on the other hand, only had 34 receiving yards on four catches and six targets in the loss to the Lions. However, he is fresh off a praiseworthy performance in Week 14’s 30-17 win at home over the Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day, racking up 78 receiving yards on six receptions and seven targets.
Fans react to Tucker Kraft’s subtle warning to Detroit Lions defensive back
“Tucker Kraft when its all said and done will be one of the greatest TE the Packers have ever had. He needs 6-7 targets PER game. Over the middle let him punish defenders,” a commenter said.
Via another fan: “About time the Packers had a straight up menace on the team”
From a different comment: “My man tucker. Just plowing thru guys, warms my heart lol. Love the pack is more physical an dynamic than ever under Barry. We needed the d to catch up to our offense an I think we have a great team. Playing great football when we need it.”
“Boys have that chip on their shoulder. See you Thursday Night,” chimed in a fan.
“Tucker got that dawg in him. Love to see it,” another comment read.
