Mark Murphy just had his final shareholders meeting on Friday as the Green Bay Packers President and CEO. Although his time serving that role for the Packers has already come to an end, which, in a way, also marked the conclusion of a memorable era in franchise history, Murphy will always be remembered by Green Bay fans.
Ed Policy now takes over the position left by Murphy, ushering in a new period for one of football’s historic franchises.
“We all know it’s never easy following somebody like Mark Murphy, but it’s much easier if he’s taken the time to prepare you to do so, so thank you, Mark,” Policy said on Friday, per senior writer Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers’ website.

On social media, the Packers also paid tribute to Murphy with a short but meaningful message to Murphy, whose leadership brought a total of eight NFC North championships, 13 postseason appearances and, of course, a Super Bowl title.

“Thank you, Mark Murphy best of luck in your retirement.”
“Thank you, Mark Murphy. You made my childhood the best it could’ve been. 👏👏”
“He’ll get a statue someday soon.”
“True fans know how much this man helped propel the Packers. Give him a statue.”
